My name is Tim Tonsel (A veteran, husband, father, and grandfather) and I am currently seeking a kidney donor to help overcome end-stage renal disease. This is an urgent need and I'm reaching out to the community to find a compatible living donor.
I have been battling kidney disease, which has significantly impacted my quality of life. Despite undergoing dialysis and adhering to a strict medical regimen, I need a kidney transplant to regain my health and resume normal activities.
Eligibility for Donation
My medical team has assessed my condition and determined that a living kidney donor would provide the best opportunity for a successful transplant. My specific compatibility requirements include blood type (B or O), but any donation is appreciated and will be matched via the kidney transplant swap program. The kidney transplant swap program, also known as a paired kidney exchange, allows transplant candidates to receive a kidney from a living donor who is not a good medical match.
Search Efforts
My family and I are actively spreading awareness about my need for a kidney donor. We are leveraging social media, community outreach, and local organizations to reach potential donors who may be able to help.
Impact of Donation
Finding a suitable kidney donor will first and foremost, save my life. And will allow me to continue to be here for my grandchildren and my family in a meaningful way. I hope to raise awareness of the critical need for organ donation and inspire others to consider this life-changing act.
